Coffeefrom at World of Coffee Geneva 2025

#Coffeefrom News
What happens when the world’s top coffee innovators gather in one place?
Ideas spark, new visions emerge and coffee grounds gain a second life.
📅From June 26 to 28, we took part in World of Coffee Geneva 2025, the vibrant hub of the global coffee community this year.
But we weren’t there just to attend. We brought our story to the table, sharing our research on the potential of coffee grounds.
🎤Our co-founder Laura Gallo spoke at the Green Coffee Connect Innovation Exhibition: Circular Economy with Coffee Grounds, hosted by ITC C4CEC and SCA, together with brilliant entrepreneurs from Coffee Kreis, EcoBean, Delta Coffees, and More2Coffee.
Each of us presented our way of reimagining the future of coffee, a future beyond the cup, beyond waste.

Why Change Can’t Wait
Here’s why this mission matters more than ever:
- 🇪🇺 Europe generates over 6 million tonnes of coffee waste every year, over 90% of it still ends up in landfills
- Waste management costs are rising—both in money and CO₂ emissions
- Companies lose resources and reputation by not giving this waste a second life
- Plus, new EU rules (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) will soon require all packaging to be fossil-free, recyclable, and traceable by January 1, 2030
In short: doing nothing is no longer an option for the planet, or for business.

Why believe in Coffeefrom’s solutions?
- We valorize all coffee fractions, working towards almost zero waste
- We maintain full internal control, from waste collection to biofilm production
- Our materials are under food-contact certification process, aiming to expand into safe, functional applications
- We even extract nanocellulose from coffee waste to push the boundaries of what’s possible
- And we actively collaborate with social cooperatives to create impact that goes beyond materials, aligning our work with clear ESG goals
This is our way of making circularity not just an idea, but a practical, scalable solution.
