June 2022: Coffeefrom meets Milan Design Week and MECSPE exhibition

Design Week - Fiera MECSPE - Coffeefrom

Design, sustainability and industrial symbiosis: from June,7th to 12th we took part of the Milan Design Week and Mecspe manufacturing exhibition, two seemingly distant worlds that share a continuous search for process and material innovations. In this context, our goal is to open constant dialogues with both of them, by means of research projects and experimentations.

Here are the highlights of the week!

Urban Matter(s) with Materially at Superstudio Più

Within Superstudio Più of Via Tortona 27 (Milan), the exhibition Urban Matter(s) curated by Materially had the goal to provide concrete answers to the main issues of our time – climate change, air quality of our spaces and overproduction of waste – by presenting new materials and processes. From coffee waste to a new valuable second raw material, Coffeefrom pellets address to many applications, like food packaging, tableware, promotional, cosmetics, medical and fashion. After our Coffeefrom espresso cups, we have shown a preview of our latest tableware product, the Mug made of Coffeefrom-PLA, designed to be a daily partner for every recharging moments.

Materialized with Isola Design District at Spazio Gamma

In the heart of Isola district, the exhibition Materialized curated by Isola Design District in Via Pastrengo 7 (Milan) aimed at spreading awareness on valid alternatives to traditional plastics and other polluting materials. In this year’s edition – Together As One – we have brought our Coffeefrom cup as a symbol of what can be done from coffee grounds on a daily routine.

MECSPE exhibition in Bologna with TMP

Industrial symbiosis from coffee grounds: this was the concept that has been guiding a 3-day exhibition dedicated to manufacturing. For us, it has represented a crucial contamination hub, where our supply chain partners shown how their industrial practice is approaching a circular economy. Together with the Italian Association of Plastic Materials Technicals space, we have created an exposition area where our new Mugs have been live-printed, thanks to collaboration of Bear Plast, Haitian International, YUDO Global and Nexeo Plastics.
